Award-winning author, Debbie Johnson has moved from HarperCollins to Orion Fiction in a ‘major’ four-book deal.
The move signifies a new stage in Debbie’s career, developing from an ebook bestseller to a brand author across both print and digital. With a broader audience in mind, Debbie will be writing bigger novels, and publishing two books a year…
The first will tell the story of Jess, whose childhood sweetheart disappeared from her life shortly after the birth of their first child. But when Jess discovers a box of letters and postcards, she realises that he hasn’t disappeared at all… and sets out on a journey to discover who she really is, and where the love of her life has gone.
Debbie Johnson said of the deal: “I am extremely proud of all that I have achieved with HarperCollins, but am now looking forward to starting this very exciting next stage of my writing journey. Debbie will conclude the bestselling Comfort Food Café series, with A Gift at the Comfort Food Café and A Wedding at the Comfort Food Café, before moving to Orion with a new paperback in 2020. The series has done incredibly well, with e-book sales in excess of 700,000 and having sold over 60,000 paperback copies to date.
