We’re so thrilled that Run, Rebel, the debut YA verse novel by Manjeet Mann, has been chosen as a recommended title for National Poetry Day this year.

Celebrated on 1st October, National Poetry Day is a UK-wide celebration that encourages all to enjoy, discover and share poetry. Run, Rebel sits among giants of verse including Michael Rosen, Robert Macfarlane and Joseph Coehlo.

“I am restless, my feet need to fly.”

Amber is trapped – by her father’s rules, by his expectations, by her own fears.

Now she’s ready to fight – for her mother, for her sister, for herself.

Freedom always comes at a price.

Run, Rebel is a trailblazing verse novel that thunders with rhythm, heart and soul. Published earlier this year by Penguin Random House Children’s, it has been chosen as one of The Guardian’s Best Books of 2020 with the newspaper saying “Mann’s brilliant, coruscating verse novel lays out the anatomy of Amber’s revolution, and the tentative first flowerings of hope and change.”

Congratulations, Manjeet! We’re very excited to celebrate your wonderful work!
