The MM Agency is pleased to announce that digital superstar Tracy Bloom has just won an excellent deal with HarperCollins for her new book, The Wife Who Got a Life.
Editorial Director Kate Bradley acquired rights to two books from Madeleine Milburn, with the first book to be released in Spring 2021. Tracy already has an established digital fanbase, who adore her trademark wit and warmth. She’s a number one Kindle bestseller, whose self-published titles include No-One Ever Has Sex on a Thursday and Single Woman Seeks Revenge.
Brimming with humour, sass, and a whole lot of heart, The Wife Who Got a Life follows hassled wife and mother Cathy Collins, as she attempts to prepare herself for the onslaught of middle age, but is faced with a revelation that blows her good intentions out of the water.
Cathy Collins thinks she’s worked out exactly what she needs to do in order to nail getting older.
After initially feeling very de-motivated by her sister’s gift of a ‘Motivational Journal’, she develops a unique list of monthly tasks she believes will set her up for tackling the coming of middle age with ease.
Unfortunately, no one ever said the ageing process was that straightforward, and when her husband throws in his own midlife bombshell, it sends her into crisis mode despite her carefully laid plans…
Bradley commented: “I’m beside myself with excitement to be publishing Tracy, I’ve admired her for such a long time and HarperCollins is the perfect place for her uplifting, heartwarming and utterly hilarious writing. The Wife Who Got a Life perfectly captures the joyous chaos of family life, it’s like having a belly laugh with your best mate over a G&T and Tracy’s heroines provide the perfect antidote to life’s unavoidable daily dramas! I couldn’t be more thrilled to be embarking on the next stage of Tracy’s career with her – this will be a step change in her publishing and it’s a dream come true.”
An excited Bloom stated: “I have loved and laughed whilst writing The Wife Who Got a Life and so I am absolutely delighted that it has found a home at HarperCollins where other people love it and laugh at it also! Kate bonded with it immediately and so I’m very excited to work with her and the rest of the team to get this novel out into the world and into the hands of readers who will hopefully enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it.”
Tracy started writing when her cruel, heartless husband ripped her away from her dream job shopping for rollercoasters for the UK’s leading theme parks, to live in America with a brand new baby and no mates. In a cunning plan to avoid domestic duties and people who didn’t understand her Derbyshire accent, she wrote her romantic comedy, No-One Ever Has Sex on a Tueesday. This debut novel went on to be successfully published internationally and became a #1 Best Seller.
