Another week under our belts, and it’s certainly been a busy one behind the scenes with lots of final preparations for the announcement of our first Agency Mentees. Here’s a look at everything that’s been going on!

We received thousands of applications for our inaugural Agency mentorship so it was incredibly difficult to choose just six from such a high standard of submissions. We’re very excited to finally introduce everyone to our first ever mentees here!

The Sunday Mirror ran a brilliant review of The Shelf, Helly Acton’s smart, funny and feminist debut published earlier this month by Bonnier Zaffre, calling it “a smart take-down of reality TV, with satirical bite.”

The spooky cover for Phil Hickes‘ The Haunting of Aveline Jones was unveiled in a lovely, autumnal animation, with cover artwork illustrated by Keith Robinson.

 

Mark Edward‘s chilling suspense thriller Here to Stay has now sold over 250,000 copies, less than a year since it was published by Amazon/Thomas & Mercer.

 

Sadie Pearse‘s new novel One of the Family, about a long-absent sister who returns to her family with a mysterious past and a troubled child, is now available to request on NetGalley. Early reviewers have called it “exhilarating and thought-provoking”, and “a truly sensitive and gripping novel about genders, identity and family”.

We were so happy to see Manjeet Mann‘s smart, fierce YA novel Run, Rebel on the long-list for the Warwickshire Schools Library Year Nine Book Awards, read and chosen by Year Nine pupils across the county.

 

 

 

Miranda Malins has contributed an honest, important and eye-opening guest post to Honest Mum, the blog run by Mumboss author Vicki Broadbent, about giving birth and publishing her debut novel The Puritan Princess during lockdown.

 

In further testament to her powerful writing Miranda has continued to attract brilliant praise from fellow historical fiction authors, most recently from Tudor and Stuart Historian and author Dr Linda Porter. She wrote in her guest review for historical fiction blog The Writing Desk that “[Miranda] can now take her place alongside the wonderful historical crime novels of SG MacLean in her Seeker series, and, on the non-fiction side, Paul Lay in Providence Lost.”

We also received the news that Lesley Sanderson‘s bestselling thrillers (published by Bookouture), have now hit 50,000 copies sold! Her latest novel I Know You Lied was published in June this year to incredibly enthusiastic reviews from bloggers and readers who called it “captivating and compelling” and “A fast paced read with plenty of twists and turns which kept me on the edge of my seat throughout”.
