This Monday, we arrived at the office to find it transformed.

Father Christmas (Giles Milburn) had slaved away his Sunday to transform our work space into a Christmas grotto. In no particular order, we were greeted with tinsel, tree, lights, stars, baubles, stockings, chocolate and window stickers. Safe to say, Christmas has come early at MMLA.

And the Christmas cheer only grew as it was announced today that Madeleine Milburn is once again on the Bookseller 100 most influential people, for the second year in a row. We couldn’t be prouder or more thrilled!

Following that, some of our authors received serious publicity this week.

C.J. Tudor’s The Chalk Man was featured in The Guardian this week as one of the best books of 2018: “Also worth seeking out is The Chalk Man by CJ Tudor (Penguin); there are shades of Stephen King in this very creepy timeslip, as well as an evocative portrait of small-town life in 1980s Britain.”

The US paperback of The Chalk Man will be published on 31st December (pictured above).

C.J.’s chilling next book, The Taking of Annie Thorne will be published in the UK next month.

Gail Honeyman’s multi award-winning novel, Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine continues to take the world by storm. It is currently sitting comfortably at No. 2 in the UK and in the New York Times bestseller list.

Rona Halsall’s Love You Gone was this week featured on iTunes’ “Biggest Books Right Now”, alongside Michelle Obama’s Becoming, Lee Child’s Past Tense and Adam Kay’s This is Going to Hurt.

The brains behind the cheesecake extravaganza, Pleesecakes, Joe Moruzzi and Brendon Parry, were featured on the front cover of the Sainsbury’s magazine this week.

The ebook edition of Fionnuala Kearney’s  The Book of Love has had a festive makeover, and we just LOVE it.

Fiona Barton’s new thriller, The Suspect and Michelle Adams’ Between the Lies were featured in Prima’s “Coming Soon!” section this week, alongside Lesley Kara and Lucy Foley.

C.L. Taylor’s chilling new novel, Sleep, has been heralded on ibooks as one of “Winter’s most anticipated”:
