Agency authors continue to ride the New York Times wave this week, and the awards charts! Here are this week’s highlights.

We’re pinching ourselves to see that Ashley Audrain, Katherine May and Clare Pooley have all made the New York Times bestseller list for the THIRD week running!

The Push has now inched up to No.4 on the hardcover fiction list, and is No.6 on the Ebook bestseller list. It has also broken into the Indie Bestseller List at No.15!

Katherine May’s Wintering is still going strong on the Indie Bestseller list too, at No.6, and is No.14 on the hardcover non-fiction of the New York Times. And hurrah for one of the most joyful books of 2020 and now 2021: Clare Pooley‘s The Authenticity Project is at No.14 on the paperback fiction list. This is such an enormous achievement for all three writers, so we’re sending out our congratulations to each of them for this extraordinary success! If you haven’t read any (or all) of these very special books yet, then you’re running out of excuses…

And it’s not just the US charts where Agency authors are popping up: congratulations to Rizzoli, whose Italian edition of La Spinta (The Push) was published on 12 January and has entered the Italian foreign fiction bestseller chart at No.17!

This is in the midst of some exciting international publications this week too. We’re celebrating launches of The Push in Slovenia (Ucila) and Poland (Prozynski Media), as well as this striking Italian edition of Seven Lies by Elizabeth Kay (Longanesi).

The second novel from the Sunday Times bestseller Elizabeth Macneal is nearly here! Picador officially revealed the magical cover of Circus of Wonders this week, ahead of hardcover publication in May. Pre-order a copy here.

Some awards news now, and an enormous well done to Stephanie Wrobel, who’s novel The Recovery of Rose Gold has been shortlisted for an Edgar Allen Poe Award! The 75th Annual Edgar Awards, which champion the best in mystery fiction, non-fiction and television, will be held on 29 April 2021. We’re rooting for you Steph!

This week saw the announcement of Soon Wiley‘s US and UK deals for his bittersweet debut novel set in Seoul, When We Fell Apart, about love, loss and displacement. Dutton Books acquired North American rights in a ‘major’ deal and Simon & Schuster won UK & Commonwealth rights at auction. Both publishers are planning a global launch of Soon’s book in spring 2022. Translation rights have also sold to AST in Russia.

We’ve continued to see lots of eye-grabbing publicity for Agency authors, and The Push continues to dominate headlines in the US! The New York Post gave it an incredible review, calling it ā€œthe new We Need to Talk About Kevin for pregnant womenā€ and “compulsively readable“.

C.L. Taylor’s addictive YA thriller The Island, published this month by HQ and billed as Lost meets The Hunger Games, was also featured in Bella Magazine.

Last but not least, an IRD double-whammy in Denmark to close the week with: Danish rights to C.J. Tudor’s The Other People and The Burning Girls have sold to Lindhardt og Ringhoff. Tillykke Caroline!Ā
